Lapland invites you to the North

At the start of the year Finland Convention Bureau’s portfolio of members was expanded by the addition of 12 travel centres in Lapland: Rovaniemi, Levi, Ylläs, Saariselkä, Pyhä-Luosto, Salla, Suomu-Kemijärvi, Posio, Sea Lapland, Tornionlaakso, Olos-Pallas and Enontekiö.

Despite its exotic location in the North, Lapland is very easy to get to. The flight time from Helsinki to one of the five airports in Lapland takes just 1 to 1.5 hours. These airports are situated in Kemi, Rovaniemi, Kittilä, Enontekiö and Ivalo.

The wide range of high-quality conference and recreation services offered by Lapland’s travel centres guarantee a successful meeting. Indeed, Lapland is the ideal location for both small meetings and major congresses. The stunning and unique nature, abundant recreational opportunities and quality meetings services make any conference visit unforgettable.

Lapland has four very distinct seasons ranging from snowy winters to bright and warm summers. Despite sharing the same latitude as Siberia, which is covered in frozen tundra, and Greenland, which is covered in ice, the average temperature in Lapland is several degrees higher, so even crops can be cultivated. This is possible thanks to the Gulf Stream,
which carries warm water from the tropics to the Norwegian coastline.
